In 2013 the FDFA will again hold its popular International Career Day (ICD). More than 30 international organizations will present their work and their career opportunities on March 21 in the Palais the Beaulieu in Lausanne. The event addresses university graduates and young academics with professional experience wishing to work in an inter-governmental organization.

The ICD, which is being held for the tenth time, was initiated to promote the presence of Switzerland in international organizations. Despite Switzerland’s great engagement in international cooperation, it is still under-represented in the UN system and other international organizations. The ICD aims to facilitate contact to international organizations for Swiss nationals and encourages them to pursue an international career.

The possibility of direct exchanges between HR specialists from important international organizations and motivated young academics is unique in Switzerland. The international organizations each present their activities in depth at their stands and most will hold a presentation during the day (see presentation schedule in the right column). The target group are university graduates and young academics with professional experience. The ICD is the only event in Switzerland dedicated exclusively to international organizations. More than 30 international organizations will present their activities in the Palais de Beaulieu in Lausanne. Doors are open from 10.00–17.00.

The FDFA is again working with its partner Etucom for the organization of the ICD. ICD is integrated into the “Salon des Carrières”, where enterprises from all sectors present their jobs. Participation in the ICD is free. All that visitors need to do is to print an invitation and present it at the entry or to register directly upon arrival at the venue. In order to print an invitation, please follow the link in the right column. For questions about the ICD, please contact the United Nations and International Organizations division (find contact details in the right column).
