Integration office
The Integration office is the Swiss government agency with responsibility for coordinating Switzerland’s policy on Europe. In existence since 1961, it is a joint agency of the Federal Department for Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and the Federal Department of Economic Affairs (FDEA).
The Federal Council has assigned the following tasks to the Integration office:
- observing European integration
- analysing and assessing the effects of European integration policy on Switzerland
- coordinating matters of integration law and integration policy
- negotiating treaties with the European Union
- disseminating information on Switzerland’s European policy and European integration.
