Directorate of Corporate Resources (DCR) manages the Department’s human and financial resources in pursuance of Switzerland’s foreign policy objectives, and maintains the network of Swiss representations abroad. It ensures the efficiency of Switzerland’s consular services and is responsible for the security of its representations abroad and their staff. It provides the services – logistics, telematics, management and controlling mechanisms – required for the operation of the department.

Decisions on legal matters and the application of legal provisions also fall within the purview of the DCR. It acts as legal adviser to the Department in all fields except that of international law. The federal government’s travel service, which organizes and pays for official international travel, is subordinate to the Directorate.
