The Embassy of Switzerland in Beijing and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong are pleased to introduce a new appointment and information system with effect from May 01, 2012. With the opening of this new Call Center the Embassy and Consulates will improve the level of service to the ever increasing demand on applicants.

New visa fee starting from May 01, 2012:
Applicants shall pay a visa fee of CNY 505.00
Children from the age of six years and below the age of 12 years shall pay a visa fee of CNY 295.00
The visa for kids under 6 year old is free of charge
Visa application will only be accepted if a prior appointment through the call center has been made in advance.
A personal appearance is mandatory for all visa applicants.
Applications shall be decided within 15 calendar days of the date of the lodging of an application which is admissible.
That period may be extended up to a maximum of 30 calendar days in individual cases.
Please do not send any documents regarding visa application - especially invitation letters - to the Embassy or Consulates. Documents by fax, email or post will automatically be deleted or destroyed. All documentations (as detailed in the relevant leaflet), including the invitation letter, must be submitted when applying for a visa.
If you are a family member (this includes a spouse, registered partner, child who is under 21 or a depending family member) of an EU/EEA or Swiss national (or his /her spouse/registered partner) you shall make an appointment directly at the Swiss Embassy or Consulates. If you choose to do so, please note that the appointment through the Embassy or Cosulates will be accepted by email only. The email should include prove of a binding evidence to a EU/EEA citizen.
The Embassy of Switzerland does not recommend buying supporting documents, i.e. insurance, flight tickets, hotel reservations etc. from the street sellers as those people have no connection and do not act on behalf of or with the consent of the Embassy.
