The aim of the Cultural Section is to promote traditional as well as contemporary aspects of Swiss art and culture in India. Swiss experts from the field of visual arts, performing arts, films, architecture, and academics are invited to India to participate in scheduled events of partner institutes or to perform at events organized by the Embassy. Most of the programs are implemented in collaboration with existing educational institutions, cultural institutions and government bodies in India. In special cases, the section also extends occasional help and support to Swiss artists residing in India by introducing them to necessary networks, conceptualizing interactive sessions with relevant audiences or simply by lending our brand to their promotion event.

The section also works in close association with cultural institutes and representative offices of partner countries like Austria, France, Germany and Italy, with whom Switzerland shares its cultural and geographical boundaries.

The cultural section also works with education institutions at primary and higher school levels. We organize workshops on Switzerland for teachers of foreign languages, viz German, French and Italian. Often these target groups receive a large amount of information on Switzerland on print and electronic medium, thus encouraging them to include Switzerland in regular school hours to school students learning foreign languages.
