On 2 October 2012, the Embassy of Switzerland in Tehran introduced the Schengen Visa with biometric data. Therefore, all visa applicants (who are older than 12 years of age) have to come personally to the Embassy for submitting their visa application. 

Visa applications submitted by third parties can neither be accepted nor processed.

Visa applicants will be received by appointment only. To make an appointment please call 021 2200 84 54 / 55.

It is strongly recommended to arrange the appointment 45 days prior to your departure.

As of April 14, 2013, the visa fee has to be paid in US Dollars (USD). The following prices are valid: 

Persons above the age of 12 years:	USD 79.00
Children between 6 and 12 years:	USD 47.00
Children below the age of 6 years:	free of charge
Children and spouses of EU nationals:	free of charge

The exact amount has to be paid in in cash (personal checks and credit cards are not accepted). 

If your application must be submitted to the competent authorities in Switzerland for a decision (e. g. work, study or residence visa), an additional postage fee of USD 7 will be charged.
