The Swiss authorities issue this warning against fake Swiss Federal Government Scholarships advertised by e-mail. The Swiss Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) never advertises its scholarships by e-mail. The scholarships are generally directly managed by the Swiss representation in the respective country. The Swiss authorities recommend to never answer to these e-mails and above all not to send any money.

The Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), awards various postgraduate scholarships to foreign researchers from all fields and, in some cases, to artists:
- University scholarships for research fellowships, for doctorates and post-doctorates at Swiss universities, Federal Institutes of Technology and universities of applied sciences (no scholarships for bachelor or master studies)
- Arts scholarships for advanced studies at Swiss schools of music and fine arts (only for a limited number of countries)
Eligibility criteria, application procedure, contact addresses and additional information for your country of origin are available on the website of the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS).
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you are welcome to request all application forms directly at this representation after the opening of the call for scholarships. The complete application dossier has to be printed out and returned to the Swiss representation in triplicate before the expiration of the deadline.
