Dear Visitors

I wish you a warm welcome to the website of the Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore.
Switzerland and the Republic of Singapore have enjoyed excellent and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 11 October 1967. But relations of Swiss people with Singapore date much longer back and have a long tradition.
Their geographic distance notwithstanding, the two countries have developed over the years strong political, economic, financial, scientific and cultural ties.

A Free Trade agreement between the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – of which Switzerland is a member - and the Republic of Singapore has been in force since 1 January 2003 and is an important instrument for today’s intensive bilateral trade relations as is the recently revised Double Taxation Agreement between Switzerland and Singapore which entered into force on 1 August 2012.

The Swiss Business Hub ASEAN, located at the Swiss Embassy, is also there to support the promotion of Swiss exports to Singapore and the whole ASEAN region.
A very important and growing number of Swiss companies are present today in Singapore, often also working as a regional head office.
Many Swiss banks are present here with major offices in the very important Singaporean financial sector.

swissnex Singapore is a platform of the Embassy of Switzerland bridging knowledge and competencies in science, education, art and innovation. It operates in synergy with academic, governmental and economic partners, providing collaboration opportunities at innovative events promoting Swiss excellence.
There is a growing presence of Swiss universities , Swiss professors and Swiss students in Singapore.

Switzerland Tourism has just opened an office within the Embassy to further promote tourism from the ASEAN region to Switzerland.

Today, more than 3000 Swiss people are living in Singapore.

This website should provide you with information on Swiss – Singaporean cooperation as well as basic information on Switzerland ( business, education, culture, tourism etc), on the Swiss presence in Singapore ( communities, clubs, school, associations etc) as well as the various activities and services ( e.g. visa requirements ) organized or provided by the Embassy.

I wish you a pleasant exploration of the site. For any further information, please contact us at :  sin.vertretung@eda.admin.ch
