Please note that Switzerland has introduced Schengen Visa on 12 December 2008. The processing time can take between 5 - 15 working days, hence it is advisable to apply your visa 3 - 4 weeks prior to your departure.
NO express visa will be issued.

Swiss visas will still be valid for Switzerland until the date of expiry, even after the accession of Switzerland to Schengen, but they will not entitle to enter other Schengen states.

Singaporean, Malaysian passport holders and citizens from Brunei Darussalam do not need any visa if their intended stay in Switzerland does not exceed three (3) months and if they do not engage in gainful activity.
Anybody wanting to stay longer than three (3) months is required to apply for an authorisation through the Swiss Embassy. However, the applicant can enter Switzerland without it but is required to apply for the authorisation at the Cantonal Migration offices once they arrive.
Nationals who do require a visa should take into consideration that there are various types of visas. These are briefly outlined below.
A visa is required if you are holding a passport of one of the following countries:
- People's Republic of Bangladesh
- People's Republic of China
- Republic of India
- Republic of Indonesia
- Russian Federation
- Republic of the Philippines
- Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka
- Socialist Republic of Vietnam
- Union of Myanmar
Please note that with the introduction of Schengen in December 2008 holders of valid work permits B or C do not need a visa to enter any other Schengen member states.
Tourist Visa
For persons who holiday in Switzerland, staying at a hotel or rented apartment or on coach tours.
Business Visa
For persons who wish to meet their Swiss business partners
Transit Visa
For persons entering Switzerland only for onward travel within 24 hours.
Visitor Visa
For persons who are going to spend some time with relatives or friends living in Switzerland.
Airport Transit Visa
For persons taking a connecting flight from a Swiss airport.
