Swiss agency for developement and cooperation (SDC)

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is part of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs. SDC is the Swiss Government's international cooperation agency, focal point for the overall coordination of development activities, cooperation with Eastern Europe, as well as humanitarian aid. SDC has an annual budget of almost 1.3 billion Swiss Francs, runs 55 offices world wide, and employs more than 1'000 Swiss and local employees.
SDC Office in Damascus – Development aid

The Swiss Cooperation Office in Damascus is part of the Swiss Embassy in Syria, coordinating Switzerland's development cooperation in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.

SDC is currently funding the following development programs in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon:

  • Support in the fields of social justice, environmental protection and good governance/human rights
  •  Support for small NGO projects, which have a direct social impact, promote local culture, or facilitate the regional exchange of experience
SDC Office in Amman – Humanitarian aid

In addition, SDC is funding the following regional humanitarian aid programs in Jordan, Syrian and Lebanon, through its office in Amman, Jordan:

  • Regional Palestine Refugee Programme
  •  Regional Disaster Risk Reduction programme.
