Family Reunion Visa

Family reunion to a Swiss citizen

Applicants, who wish to join family members in Austria, have to submit their documents at the Austrian Embassy in Baku. Please check their website for further information.

For applicatons who wish to join  family members in Switzerland (visa type D / Swiss national visa application form):

The person who wants you to move to Switzerland is a Swiss citizen:

Spouse

  • 3 Swiss visa application forms filled in and signed + 4 passport photos
  • Valid travel document (incl. 3 copies)
  • Original marriage certificate + 2 copies
  • Original birth certificate + 2 copies 
  • Original residence confirmation + 2 copies
  • Criminal record. For minor applicants until the age of 16 no criminal record is required +2 copies
  • 3 copies of the passport of the Swiss citizen

Minor children

  • 3 visa application forms filled in and signed by the custodian + 4 passport photos
  • Valid travel document (incl. 3 copies)
  • Original birth certificate + 2 copies
  • Child custody confirmation; if available + 2 copies
  • Original residence confirmation + 2 copies
  • 3 copies of the passport of the parent in Switzerland

The official civil status documents incl. criminal record must not be older than six months. All documents need to be translated into an official Swiss language (German, French or Italian) and notarized. The original documents have to be legalized with an Apostille according to the convention of The Hague.

Only complete files will be accepted. 

 

Family reunion to a foreigner with residence permit in Switzerland

The person who wants you to move to Switzerland is not a Swiss citizen:

Spouse

  • 3 visa application forms filled in and signed + 4 passport photos
  • Valid travel document (incl. 3 copies)
  • Original marriage certificate + 2 copies
  • Original birth certificate + 2 copies
  • Original residence confirmation + 2 copies
  • Criminal record. For minor applicants until the age of 16 no criminal record is required
  • 3 copies of the passport and residence permit of the foreign citizen living in Switzerland

Minor children

  • 3 visa application forms filled in and signed by the custodian + 4 passport photos
  • Valid travel document (incl. 3 copies)
  • Original birth certificate + 2 copies
  • Child custody confirmation; if available + 2 copies
  • Original residence confirmation + 2 copies
  • 3 copies of the passport and the residence permit of the parent in Switzerland
