The Consulate General of Switzerland in St. Petersburg is serving residents of the northwest region only (Republics of Karelia and Komi, Nenets autonomous district and regions of Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Leningrad, Murmansk, Novgorod, Pskov and the city of St. Petersburg).
Important changes in the visa application process as of September 21st, 2012, in the Russian Federation
Starting September 21st, 2012, applications for Schengen visa (categories A & C) need to be submitted at the counters of an external service provider, which will then forward the visa documents for futher processing to the Embassy in Moscow or the Consulate General in St. Petersburg - according to the consular jurisdiction. Passports with visa are to be collected at the same office where the documents were submitted earlier. The external service provider is called VFS Global. This service costs EUR 23.00 per person - in addition to the visa fee that might be due (equivalent payable in RUR).

Locations and addresses of the Visa Application Centers
Applications for national visa for Switzerland (type D, stay of more than 90 days) need to be submitted even after this date at the counters of the visa section of the Consulat General in St. Petersburg.

For the submission of applications at the Visa Application Center in St. Petersburg appointments are strongly recommended in order to avoid queues. At the Visa Application Centers in Kaliningrad and Murmansk (as of 01.03.2013), appointments are not necessary.

To get an appointment and detailed information please call: +7 812 655 02 89 The services of the call center are available from Monday to Friday from 09:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. Calls only cost the normal phone charges. Appointments can also be requested on the website of VFS Global (external service provider, operating the Visa Application Centers).

For applicants who prefer not to submit their documents at a Visa Application Center, but at the visa section of the Consulate General, a limited number of "slots" is available daily. However, priority is given to applicants who would like to submit an application for a national visa. Requests for such appointments are to be made through the Call Center.
