Until June 21, 2013, you  are required to appear in person if you live in Southern California. No appointment is required. Our visitor hours on a walk-in basis are from Monday to Friday 09:00 to 12:00 (noon) except holidays.*

Applicants from Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico can apply by mail.

Health Insurance: After a recent meeting among the local Schengen member countries it was decided that letters and insurance cards from U.S. health insurance companies can no longer be accepted. Applicants are required to provide proof of temporary traveller's health insurance for the duration of their stay in Schengen. Please refer to the list of requirements concerning requested coverage.

Return of Passport/Visa: Should applicants from Southern California wish to have their passport/visa returned to them by mail after processing, they are requested to bring in - at time of personal application - a pre-paid, self-addressed return envelope with a tracking number, indicating their name and address both as sender and recipient.
