Culture and Education
The Cultural Section provides and distributes information on the cultural scene in Switzerland, encourages cooperation with American institutions in a variety of artistic projects in the U.S., and organizes cultural events both at the Swiss Embassy and the Swiss Residence as well as at outside venues. It keeps in touch with its interested public through a cultural calendar, monthly updates and this website.
The Cultural Section also works with elementary, middle- and high school groups as well as scouting troops by providing them with materials on Switzerland and by inviting them to the embassy for presentations on Switzerland. As a contact and organizer for the Embassy Adoption Program, it works in partnership with D.C. public schools and the Washington Performing Arts Society to provide an in-depth learning experience on Switzerland to a D.C. public school class each year.
