Applicants residing in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Delaware as well as applicants whose zip codes begin with the following first 3 digits

Virginia: 201, 217, 220-232

West Virginia: 254, 267, 268

are required to appear in person at the Embassy of Switzerland. Other applicants and persons residing in Kentucky and in the U.S. Territories can file applications by mail. However, if necessary a personal interview might be required.

No appointment is needed. The Consular Section is open to the public Monday to Friday, 9.00 a.m. - 12.00 noon, except holidays.

Visas cannot be processed on the same day. If you wish to have your passport/visa returned by mail after processing, please provide a prepaid self-addressed return envelope with a tracking number, indicating the name and address both as sender and recipient.

Payment options: cash or major credit cards are accepted. By mail, only a money order will be accepted.
