Bilateral relations between Switzerland and Vanuatu
Relations between Switzerland and Vanuatu are marginal. There are no economic contacts worth mentioning with this lightly-populated island state in the Pacific. Despite this, the universality of Switzerland’s foreign policy led it to establish diplomatic relations with Vanuatu in 1990. These are maintained by the Swiss embassy in Canberra, Australia. Contact is sporadic, and the two countries occasionally cooperate within a multilateral framework.
