Despite significant achievements, the Afghan population continues facing important human rights violations in their daily life and the considerable progresses made in the field of human rights in Afghanistan since the collapse of the Taliban remain highly fragile and at risk.
Human rights being crucial to overcome fragility, their promotion is at the basis of the Swiss programme in Afghanistan. Support is brought to both civil society stakeholders such as advocacy groups, cultural organizations or media and state institutions in their work to advance human rights and the rule of law. Particular emphasis is placed on the elimination of violence and discrimination against women and children.
