National Day 2023 greetings for the Swiss abroad by the President Alain Berset

According to the Statistics on the Swiss Abroad compiled by the Federal Statistical Office, in 2022 around 800,000 Swiss citizens were registered with Swiss representations abroad. The Swiss community abroad has grown in recent years. If it were a canton it would be Switzerland's fourth largest in terms of population.

The candidacy entered its final phase with a virtual event in New York attended by the president of the Swiss Confederation, Simonetta Sommaruga, and Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis.
