Swiss humanitarian Foundation KASA in cooperation with TUMO center for creative technologies, Swiss Embassy in Armenia and PanArmenian.net, organize the forum ”Unbordering Education" on November 2nd 2014.

"Unbordering Education" is a one day forum on impact of IT on Education. The aim is to discuss current trends, challenges and opportunities IT has brought to the education landscape, by bringing together experts and practitioners in the field of Education and IT.

The forum consists of speeches and workshops, to make it a space for discussion and opinion sharing. The first part of the day will consist of Stephen Downes's speech with a Q&A session, followed by local speakers/workshops (3-4 simultaneously). The second half of the day will start with Daniel Schnieder's (from the Geneva University) speech with a Q&A session, followed by Downes's and Schneider's workshops.

Speech topic:

  • "How to Build a MOOC" (Stephen Downes)
  • "Technology and Education" /it will discuss the following questions: Does new media make a difference? Why does most technology fail? Why does it take 100 years to implement serious educational reform? Why are conversational models more successful?/ (Daniel Scheinder)

Workshop topics: 

  • MOOC Buiding Tools (Stephen Downes)
  • Digital Design and Fabrication (in education, fablabs, DYI science, etc.) (Daniel Scheinder)
