The "30 Years of Swiss Presence in Armenia" photo exhibition is to showcase a collection of photographs of Swiss assistance projects in Armenia, and provide an opportunity to look back at the 30 year history between the two countries where Switzerland’s assistance has and continues to provide a positive impact on Armenian people.

A devastating earthquake hit Armenia in 1988 killing 25’000 people and making 515’000 homeless. Many countries stretched out helping hands to assist the country; amongst them was Switzerland with its Swiss rescue Team deployed to save lives. This was the beginning of the Swiss engagement in the South Caucasus.

After the phase out of the Humanitarian Aid program by the end of 2016 (when with the Swiss support Armenian rescuers have got an INSARAG qualification), Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Armenia continued assisting the Government through its already active and ongoing projects.

Location: Embassy of Switzerland in Armenia, Melik Adamyan Street 2/1
