Switzerland’s three Geneva Centres are internationally recognised as having special expertise in their respective fields. The international support available to the Centres and their close ties to Switzerland provide credibility and solid underpinning for their activities, enabling them to deliver their expertise efficiently and effectively. In providing the framework credit, Switzerland aims to contribute to a just and peaceful international order, as set out in Article 2 of the Federal Constitution.
Practical solutions and hands-on expertise
The three Centres provide training courses in foreign and security policy as well as continuing professional development for international specialists and managers. They also assist with humanitarian mine clearance operations and develop practical solutions to ensuring good governance in the security sector. In view of global developments, this work remains vital to Switzerland's security. Security policy is currently characterised by complex, protracted conflicts, a growing number of fragile states, including in neighbouring regions, heightened tensions between major powers and new challenges in areas such as terrorism, cyber and automated warfare. All this calls for practical solutions and hands-on expertise.
