Livelihoods Empowerment & Agroforestry Project LEAF

Projekt abgeschlossen

Switzerland is since 2004 strengthening Employment and Income (E&I) opportunities in some of Bangladesh's most poverty affected areas in the Northwest and North. The main expected outcomes of SAMRIDDHI for 2010-2013 are: i) Market and value chain development: For this purpose, 6 existing and successful value-chains will be strengthened and 5 new pro-poor value-chains will be developed.  ii) Community organization and governance: Existing "Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)" will stay the platform for strengthening development at local level and linking communities with local government bodies and central government services. More than 100'000 households have so far been able to improve their income by an average of 15%, and villages are organised in order to represent community interests at Local Governance level.
