Switzerland represents its interests within the International Organisation of la Francophonie as it does in any international organisation. It is the organisation's third largest donor with Belgium's French Community (behind France and Canada). Switzerland's policy involves playing an active role in the organisation's cooperation programmes and in the French-speaking world in general.
Switzerland uses the allocated resources to contribute to the organisation's activities to promote the use of French worldwide as well as multilingualism. An example of this is funding Swiss expertise in dual vocational education and training in certain French-speaking countries. Switzerland also supports a range of cooperation efforts in the French-speaking world where various Swiss stakeholders can interact, both at the national and international level. This includes in particular Swiss universities that are members of the Academic Agency of la Francophonie and the Intercantonal Conference of Public Education of French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino (CIIP) at the Francophonie Festival held in Switzerland.
