The event, which included the signature of a ceremonial document, was organised by the Cyprus Swiss Association and the newly created Circle, under the auspices and with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland. H.E. Mr. Theodosis Tsiolas, Permanent Secretary, Directorate General Growth of the Ministry of Finance, honoured the ceremony with his attendance, as well as high representatives of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Circle aims on the one hand, at enhancing economic and trade relations between Cyprus and Switzerland/Liechtenstein, and on the other hand, at organising relevant bilateral meetings and events through all possible ways that could promote mutual cooperation among the respective authorities and business communities of the countries. The Circle complements the informal contact group regularly invited by the Embassy, bringing together economic actors in Cyprus in relation with Switzerland. Membership of the Circle is mainly ensured by corporate members of the Association, who have notable and distinguished presence in the business world.

The Circle has been created within the well-established Cyprus Swiss Association. Its Chairman is Mr Kyriacos Metaxas. The Embassy and the Association are represented in its 9-member board.
