DRC: Vulnerable Households Accommodation and Community Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project in Samegrelo (West Georgia)

Project completed

The project provides Housing repairs for the most vulnerable and extremely vulnerable families in four villages of Samegrelo district) with local authorities contributing to the extremely vulnerable families’ caseload. Besides, extremely vulnerable families will receive NFI packages. The families are selected regardless of their status (vulnerable IDPs from Abkhazia and Samegrelo’s local population alike) through a defined selection process by a temporarily formed state civic platform. The project aims not only at improving living conditions of individual families but aims to reach out to the wider community to avoid possible tensions between the targeted families and the rest of the village population. The community infrastructure rehabilitation as a result of community mobilization and the development of Community/Village Development Plans is benefiting the whole community/village.
