Application of the Universal Standards for Social Performance Management (USSPM) by inclusive financial service providers can ensure that low-income and vulnerable people will improve their livelihoods as a result of client-centric financial services offered responsibly. The Social Performance Task Force is best positioned to promote the application of the USSPM globally - and with REDCAMIF in Central America & Caribbean - as effective market transparency and self-regulation tool for the global inclusive financial inclusion industry.
Programa de Empoderamiento Transformativo con Enfoque Psicosocial

El programa integra el enfoque psicosocial en la formación de la Policía Nacional y 12 organizaciones vinculadas al portafolio de COSUDE, fortaleciendo los procesos de diálogo, transformación de los conflictos, el empoderamiento y la cohesión social. Contribuye a reducir los niveles de violencia, polarización y la conflictividad social con enfoque en la región del Golfo de Fonseca y la Mosquitia. Crea una formación especializada sobre el enfoque psicosocial en la educación superior y técnica.

El programa privilegia el fomento a la cultura a través del arte teatral de alta calidad con énfasis en la construcción y consolidación de una oferta accesible a un público diverso que facilita la reflexión sobre el contexto político, económico y social y constituye un puente para el rescate de espacios públicos, la identidad y la cohesión social. El programa fortalece y consolida la capacidad creadora e independiente del Teatro Memorias con proyección urbana y a comunidades rurales.
Inclusive Economic Development Program Territorial Region 13 Gulf of Fonseca

The program contributes to generate 5'000 new jobs and to increase the income of 10’000 vulnerable families living in the watersheds of Choluteca, Goascorán and Nacaome by 10% annually. The program promotes public-private partnerships taking into account the challenges and potentials of smallholder families producing cashew, sustainable livestock and eco-tourism. It also facilitates territorial dialogue to establish rules that foster a business climate that combines financial benefits with social and environmental sustainability.
Strengthening the Systems that Combat Corruption and Impunity (MACCIH-CICIG) in Central America

Honduras and Guatemala requested the Organization of American States and the United Nations to create mechanisms to combat corruption and impunity. The Support Mission Against Corruption and Impunity in Honduras and the International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala are supported by international cooperation in improving the justice system, the public prosecutor, and the anti-corruption and Human Rights protection agencies. COSUDE contributes to existing mandates and strengthens regional interchange.
Inclusive territorial economic development in the Muskitia region, department of Gracias a Dios

The economic development programme is carried out in the Honduran Muskitia, a fragile indigenous territory with great productive potential. The program empowers the territorial stakeholders in the cocoa and fishing value chains and the basic grains production chain located in the mid and lower watershed of the Patuca river. It promotes public-private alliances that respect indigenous rights in accordance to the convention 169 of the international labor organization. These public-private alliances generate 3000 new jobs and increase the income of 1500 indigenous families by 10-30%.
Local Economic Development in the Golfo de Fonseca Region

The project aims a promoting inclusive economic development in the Golfo de Fonseca Region, which is part of the dry tropical zone of Central America, particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change. The single phase Project, co-financed with IDB’s Multilateral Investment Fund, allows influencing larger IDB private sector operations and hence up-scaling. It also helps shaping SDC’s planned programs in local economic and value chain development.

Central America is a natural disasters prone region where large vulnerable populations suffer over-proportionately from increasing frequency and impact of climate change events, as traditional disaster coping mechanisms are eroding with growing environmental pressures and rising urbanisation. The public-private development partnership with Swiss Re, FOMIN, and KfW’s Climate Adaptation Fund supports MiCRO in strengthening the disaster resilience of at least 80’000 vulnerable households by 30.9.2016.
