New Ambassador of Switzerland to Hungary presented his credentials to President Áder

Peter Burkhard, the new Ambassador of Switzerland to Hungary has arrived in Budapest. He has presented his credentials to Hungary’s President János Áder on 19th October 2016.

Ambassador Burkhard arrived in Hungary from Serbia, where he was the Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia for the last four years. He has served as Ambassador twice already, 2009-2012 in Havana, where he was accredited for Cuba and Jamaica, as well as 2004-2008 in Tashkent, representing Switzerland in Uzbekistan, Kirgizstan and Tadzhikistan. He has also already lead OSZE Missions twice before in Azerbaijan (2002-2004) and Ukraine (1999-2002). Since he started working for the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs he has represented Swiss interests in Den Haag, Bonn and Moscow. He and his wife are happy about their move to Budapest and are looking forward to new challenges awaiting them.
