Payment mechanism for humanitarian supplies to Iran to take effect

Bern, 30.01.2020 – The Swiss Humanitarian Trade Arrangement (SHTA), a payment mechanism to enable humanitarian goods to be delivered to Iran, is about to be implemented. On 27 January, an initial payment for the shipment of medicines to Iran was approved in the form of a trial run.

Swiss government names new Ambassadors

The Swiss government (Federal Council) has approved the list of diplomatic staff transfers scheduled for 2014 submitted by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. The changes will be made in accordance with the normal rate of transfers, to be communicated at the time of the decision by the Federal Council. The appointments of Heads of Mission take effect as soon as the authorities in the host country communicate their approval. The Federal Council takes this opportunity to express its gratitude to the Ambassadors due to retire for the services rendered.


Official working visit by the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ali Asghar Khaji, to the State Secretary, Yves Rossier

As part of the regular political consultations between Switzerland and Iran, Mr Yves Rossier, State Secretary of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), yesterday welcomed the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Europe and America, Ali Asghar Khaji, to Bern for official talks. Mr Khaji ended his working visit today after a courtesy visit to the Director of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), Ms Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch, and a meeting with members of the Federal Parliament.
