Oxfam GB - Integrated Action on Social Protection for Widows in Iraq

Project completed

The overall aim of the project is to protect the vulnerable population in Iraq - in particular widows – through the promotion of an equitable social protection system.  As a result, 2500 vulnerable widows will have access to financial welfare support in areas around 12 governorate application centres in Baghdad by 2013. The target group is 9,000 widows in Baghdad governorate who will receive awareness raising information about the social welfare support.  Out of those, 750 widows will receive legal support to complete their social welfare support applications and at least 2500 widows will receive financial support.
