Marking 60 years since the death of Swiss composer Othmar Schoeck (1886-1957), known for his many lieder and for his friendship with Hermann Hesse, a series of memorial concerts are organized by Japanese musicians, including pianist Makiko Takeo who studied at the Zurich University of the Arts(ZHdK). Out of a selection of pieces, «Das stille Leuchten» op.60, on a text by Swiss poet C.F. Meyer, will be played at a concert in November and various songs will be performed in December.
