Co-organized by Form and the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan, FormSWISS is a design exhibition which focused on Swiss visual communication, design thinking, and the Swiss designers’ way of life. The exhibition was held in October at THINK OF THINGS, FormGALLERY, BOOK AND SONS and MINA-TO (Spiral 1F), four venues located in the vicinity of Shibuya, where the House of Switzerland Japan will open in 2021 for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Taking place during DesignArt Tokyo 2020, FormSWISS attracted 3,338 visitors and participants on site. It also received excellent reviews in the media, including AXIS magazine, Numero TOKYO, Monocle, etc.

Switzerland has been a driving force globally in the development of modern and contemporary design. How does Switzerland’s lifestyle shape its creative scene? From work-life balance to environment and culture, what can we learn from the Swiss ways of living and designing? FormSWISS explored these links of kinship through a multi-site exhibition in Tokyo.

The FormSWISS exhibition is planned to travel to Kobe in the spring of 2021.

Participants include: Alfio Mazzei, Balmer Hählen, CCRZ, Futur Neue, Gavillet & Cie, Hubertus Design, Jannuzzi Smith, Kasper-Florio, Notter+Vigne, Simone Cavadini, Studio Feixen, Supero, Swiss Typefaces, ECAL and ZHdK.
