UNDP, Enhancing Institutional DRR Capacities in Jordan
The Cooperation with UNDP in DRR corresponds to SDC’s Cooperation Strategy and its Strategic Framework Middle East. It is aligned to Jordan’s national policy on DRR and the international frameworks. The interministerial collaboration in the field of DRR and CCA and the South-South exchange are innovative elements. All involved partners pay a key role on national legal level, in the academia and/or in the field of operationalization of Disaster Risk Management Units (DRMUs) on local level. The DRMUs have so far only been mandated for the management of crisis in case of natural disasters but neither for prevention/preparedness nor climate change related activities.
