Jordan – Greater Amman Municipality: Strengthening the Institutional and Human Capacities in Disaster Risk Management
Project completed
Major earthquakes had occurred in Jordan in the past with repeated devastating impact on the most ancient cities. The last major one struck Jordan in 1927. At that time, nearly all houses with more than one story in the city of Salt were damaged. This project aims to contribute to improving the delivery of key state functions, fostering more cohesive societies and falls within the Disaster Risk Reduction domain to enhance coping mechanisms to address human-made, natural and technological crises.
