Jordan, a lower middle-income country,  is undergoing public sector reform,  including the Ministry of Education (MoE), to integrate education with human  resource development. Despite these efforts, challenges such as double  shifts, student drop-outs, and insufficient teaching capacities persist, exacerbated by hosting 1.3 million refugees. 

Switzerland, in collaboration with the World Bank will support the reform to  ensures that educators are equipped with modern teaching methods and skills  necessary to manage diverse classrooms effectively. While in collaboration with the World Food Programme, Switzerland will support the National School Feeding  Programme (NSFP) supports low-income households, boosts attendance, and enhances child nutrition. Both contributions aim to improve education quality  and access, ensuring better conditions for all students. 

Outcome 1: 500 in-service teachers   

Outcome 2: 12,500 students in host communities and refugee camps (8% refugees in camps and host communities) 

Outcome 1: Improved instructional practices of male  and  female  teachers  in  the  targeted public  schools  in  Jordan. 

Outcome 2: Enhanced gender-responsiveness and rights-based pedagogical practices in the targeted public schools in Jordan. 

Outcome 3: Number of complementary school health  and  nutrition  interventions  delivered alongside school feeding delivered by WFP  

Principaux résultats attendus:  

Under outcome 1 and 2: Output (1): Training on general and subject-specific  pedagogies and mentorship for teachers in Teachers Education Professional  Diploma is delivered. 

Output (2) Training materials for Teachers Education Professional Diploma are revised with an inclusive pedagogy lens for implementation and Output (3)  Training on how to account for the learning needs of M/F students in gender-responsive instruction is delivered. 

Under Outcome 2: Output 1: School feeding recipients benefit from nutritious and diverse home-grown food to improve their nutrition status and increase their school attendance, Output 2:  School-age children and adolescents have access  to school-based health and nutrition packages
