oPt ICRC Operation Appeals 2025: Additional Allocation 2025 H-Cash

Project completed
Funding to ICRC’s operations allows the ICRC to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. The contribution is part of the Federal Council’s decision from 26 November 2025 to grant CHF 23 million to support the “Gaza Peace Plan” of the United States.

The project in brief

Background	The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to ensure protection and assistance for victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence. The ICRC is Switzerland’s main humanitarian partner in the field of international humanitarian aid.
Objectives	Providing immediate protection and assistance for all people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.
Target groups	Victims and survivors of armed conflict and other situations of violence.
Medium-term outcomes	The ICRC is committed to responding rapidly and efficiently to the humanitarian needs of people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence by protecting the lives and dignity of all victims. The ICRC also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.
