Appointment of heads of mission and conferral of the title of ambassador

Staff changes in several Swiss representations and at the FDFA in Bern have been announced for 2018/2019. These changes are part of the periodic transfer rotation and are based on the appointments announced by the Federal Council on 24 October 2018. The appointment of heads of mission abroad becomes effective following approval by the host state.

Philipp Stalder, currently head of mission in Baku, will become the new ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Ghana, the Republic of Benin and the Togolese Republic, based in Accra. 

Arthur Mattli, currently head of mission (job-share) in Dar es Salaam, will become the new ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Romania.

Mirko Manzoni, currently head of mission in Maputo, will become the new ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Cuba and to Jamaica, based in Havana.

Tim Enderlin, currently head of the Swiss cooperation office in Vientiane, will become the new ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Nadine Olivieri Lozano, currently deputy head of mission in The Hague, has been appointed head of the Division for Security Policy within the Directorate of Political Affairs in Bern.  To allow her to carry out this new function, the Federal Council has conferred on her the title of ambassador.
