Switzerland launched in April 2018 a new four-year Cooperation Strategy for Moldova focused on three domains: Health, Local Governance and Economic Development and Employment. All projects promote human rights, gender equality and social inclusion. Swiss Government planned a budget of CHF 46.9 million for the implementation of the Cooperation Strategy 2018-2021.
Switzerland had been supporting Moldova’s political, social and economic transition process as of 2000. Since then it became a major grant giving partner. At present, Switzerland is the largest bilateral donor in the health sector of Moldova.
