Its main feature is that it applies to sophomore and any year above students from any university and faculty, who have achieved a GPA of at least 3.2. The programme wants to support students who are passionate about continuing their studies and are active in extracurricular activities, but are facing financial barriers.

For the academic year 2018-2019, the Zorig Foundation Scholarship Programme received over 600 applications, out of which 180 were shortlisted for interviews, and 60 were finally awarded  a scholarship. 18 of the selected students study medicine, nine law, nine finance and accounting, seven engineering and science, six  international relations, five journalism, and three are in the pedagogical field. All 60 students received 1,8 mln tugriks tuition fee allowance.

Furthermore, all students were divided into teams which have to identify, plan and carry out  a community development project. 4-5 trainings will be provided by ZF in project planning and implementation, and funds are only partially provided by the Scholarship programme, the rest must be raised by the students’ themselves. This activity is geared toward improving the students’ teamwork, as well as their organisational, and leadership skills.  Over the past years,130 community development projects have been implemented by the programme’s beneficiaries.
