Progetto concluso

More than 25% of Mongolia’s population lives in the ger districts of Ulaanbaatar, where access to drinking water is limited and the overall hygienic conditions are bad. The GER WASH Project of Action Contre la Faim will improve access to safe water, sanitation and the knowledge on proper hygiene practices for the population of the Songino Khairkhan district, by strengthening the local authorities, CBOs, as well as the public and private institutions at all levels, and working together with all of them on innovative solutions.

Risultati fasi precedenti:

The project structure is designed on the basis of the pilot project (and its findings) which took place in 2009-2012. Since 2009, ACF has designed and experimented with models of latrines based on 2 main technologies: urine diversion and the development of a faeces collection service. Furthermore, ACF develops an innovative concept of “multiservice water kiosk”(larger building than traditional water kiosk, including other public services like laundry, bathhouse, etc.).
