Contesto

The Code was originally elaborated in 1997 by ECPAT Sweden, in the wake of rising concern about sexual exploitation of children in tourism and travel. The Code was registered as an international non-profit association in Sweden in 2004. Subsequently and with UNICEF support the secretariat of The Code moved to New York, where it was hosted by ECPAT USA.
