District Roads
The Project Support Unit (PSU) supports the capacity building in the districts, for implementation of rural infrastructure and community development activities. The District Development Committees (DDC) and local groups implement the works, with support from the PSU. DoLIDAR is responsible for the Planning, Coordination, Fund flow and Monitoring of the Programme. SDC has inducted many good practices across the rural road projects in Nepal. The green roads concept has been adopted nationally. Until recently unheard issues of workers’ welfare are now being translated into policy, that include insurance, work safety, equal wage for equal work and facilities that help women to participate.
