In light of recent events, Switzerland calls on all parties to step up their efforts to work towards stability in the region and to refrain from any act, any provocation or any violence likely to compromise the viability of a fair and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians based on a negotiated two-state solution. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) is concerned by the escalation in violence between Israelis and Palestinians over the past few weeks. The FDFA considers that the violence and provocations on both sides impede efforts to build trust and hopes for peace in the region.
