On 21 January 2021, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Pakistan, Mr. Bénédict de Cerjat visited the office of the Swiss Business Council (SBC) during his visit to Karachi. The Ambassador is also the Patron-in-Chief of the SBC, which was established in 2008 in Karachi and unites 53 companies operating in Pakistan either as a local subsidiary or a partner of a Swiss company. Together with Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE), which is an umbrella organization in Switzerland to promote exports of the Swiss SMEs, SBC aims to improve trade and business linkages between the two countries. SBC also facilitates fact-finding missions of Swiss SME’s to visit Pakistan to explore the potential for investment and trade. The Ambassador also attended the SBC’s Managing Committee Meeting where he lauded its active role in promoting bilateral trade relations between Switzerland and Pakistan and stressed on strengthening further the economic relations between the two countries
