Pakistan’s Commissioner for Afghan Refugees Mr. Saleem Khan, Ambassadors of the Core Group of the Support Platform for the Solutions Strategy for Afghan Refugees (SSAR) and other dignitaries attended the event.

While appreciating Dr. Rehman, the Ambassador of Switzerland, Mr. Bénédict de Cerjat said “Dr. Salima’s inspiring story sets a good precedent of integration into Pakistani society of a young woman encouraged by her family to study medicine against all odds. Investing in refugees also helps Afghanistan, which is in need of professionals. Women and men, like Dr. Saleema, could contribute to their own country – if it becomes safe to return home.”
