Grâce au soutien technique fourni par des ingénieurs suisses, des habitants de la vallée de Chail construisent des murs de soutènement pour limiter les risques naturels. Tandis que la Suisse détache des experts du Corps suisse d'aide humanitaire (CSA), le Programme alimentaire mondial (PAM) rémunère les travailleurs et contribue ainsi à améliorer leurs moyens de subsistance.

Rehabilitation of WASH infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after the Floods 2010

The floods 2010 badly damaged private and public infrastructure and aggravated the already high incidence of water-borne diseases in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). The project aims to improve WASH and in particular the access to safe drinking water along with capacity building measures for the service providers (operation & maintenance, water quality monitoring) and the beneficiaries (water treatment and hygiene). The project targets households, public institutions (schools and hospitals) and community water schemes.

En 2010, le Pakistan était victime de terribles inondations. Après avoir offert une aide d’urgence à la population, l’Aide humanitaire suisse a entrepris la reconstruction d’écoles et d’installations sanitaires. Dans le premier cas, plusieurs milliers d’écoliers et écolières ont pu retrouver le chemin de l’école à ce jour. Bien souvent, les écoles durent être reconstruites sur de nouveaux terrains, ce qui a nécessité une vraie relation de confiance entre communautés locales et autorités.

Citzens Actions for Peace & Development (CAPD)

There is a need to contribute to the stabilization of the region through conflict-resolution processes, capacitating public institutions to deliver better services and strengthening civil society organizations (CSOs) to advocate for reforms. The CAPD will work with communities to make them aware of their rights and responsibilities as citizens and enhance their dialogue with authorities to improve State performance. It will also focus on conflict-resolution mechanisms and engage communities and traditional governance structures to work towards non-violent conflict resolution.
