Coronavirus (COVID-19)
On June 23, 2021, the Federal Council decided to lift the entry restrictions for persons from third countries who are vaccinated.
For vaccinated third-country nationals, the regular entry requirements apply again from June 26, 2021.

FAQ: New entry requirements
Entry restrictions continue to apply to foreign nationals who are not vaccinated and are without rights of free movement, entering from risk countries or regions and who do not belong to any of the exceptional categories of the Covid 19 Regulation 3.
For additional information, please consult the webpage of the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM).
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic there are special rules for people entering Switzerland. Please refer to the information of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).

From 1 May 2021, the Swiss Compensation Fund in Geneva (SAK/CSC/CSC) will again require an official life certificate confirmed by the authorities. As this is not easily possible due to the current situation in Peru, life certificates can be confirmed by the insured persons themselves by means of your own signature (without the authorities' stamp) and a confirmation by a witness. In this case, we ask the insured persons to attach a copy of their valid passport or identity card and a witness confirmation to the certificate. A sample witness confirmation is available below. Life certificates and witness confirmations can be sent to the Swiss Compensation Fund as a PDF by e-mail or in original by regular mail.
If insured persons wish to extend the deadline for submitting the life certificate because the 90-day deadline is too close, the Swiss Compensation Office must be informed. If the document is not received within the required period, payment of the benefit will be automatically suspended.
Applications for extensions and life certificates can be sent to the following e-mail address: sedmaster@zas.admin.ch. In case of emergency, we can also be contacted by phone at +41 58 461 91 11.
The confirmation of the witness can be formulated as follows:
I, ............................ (surname/first name of the witness), certify that Mr/Mrs .............................. (surname/first name of the insured) is alive.
Full address of witness: .................................................................................................................................................
Date: .........................................
Signature: ..................................
More information on the confirmation of witnesses:
In principle, any person of legal age and capacity is eligible to be a witness.
The witness confirmation must be submitted in one of the three national languages or in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
The witness confirmation should ideally be handwritten directly on the form or printed (hand-signed, of course).
