The Swiss pioneers Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg are planning one of the greatest adventures of the 21st century with Solar Impulse: In 2015, they aim to become the first humans to fly around the world in a solar-powered aircraft.

Solar Impulse Round-The-World-Flight is a unique mission showing how clean technologies and renewable energies can accomplish the impossible. It aims to inspire people across all nations to unite behind one common goal: the commitment to a more sustainable future.

Solar Impulse is almost ready to take-off. The first round-the-world solar flight is scheduled to start on March 1 from Abu Dhabi and will involve landing in Oman, India, Myanmar and China before crossing the Atlantic Ocean (four consecutive days and nights). it will then head towards Southern Europe and North Africa, and fly back to the first point of departure.
