Community Integrated Health and Social services programme launched

To kick-off a 5 million Swiss francs programme to develop models of integrated health and social services for poor rural communes and small towns, local authorities from Botosani, Tulcea and Salaj County have participated in a conference and workshop in Bucharest on 21 - 22 February 2014.

Mayors, health specialists and social workers specialists representing 18 Local Councils from districs Botosani, Tulcea and Salaj have participate in the Conference "Integrated Health and within the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Program, Thematic Fund "Reform Fund linked to Health Issues" - "Widening the access to health and social services: Community integrated health and social services" project, which took place in Bucharest between 21 - 22 February 2014.

The Conference represented the launching event for the programme and introduced to the participants the training provider (Romanian Association of Public Health and Health Management) as well as national and international lecturers who shared their experiences in providing community integrated medical and social services.

The current programme is addressing the rural communes and small towns from Botosani, Salaj and Tulcea districts. Its goal is to develop integrated, functional and locally administrated community medical assistance models, for increasing access to health care, especially for socially disadvantaged population, through close collaboration between health and social services.
