The project "Roma Voices" is implemented by the Roma Education Fund Romania, together with European Roma Institute of Arts and Culture - ERIAC Romania and the cultural association Amphiteatrrom. It is a component within the Social Inclusion Programme, under the responsibility of the Romanian Ministry of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity.
The aim of "Roma Voices" is to promote measures on non-discrimination, intercultural dialogues and debates, but also art activities, through Roma culture and history. You can find more information under this factsheet (PDF, 2 Pages, 648.7 kB, English).
During his speech, H.E Massimo Baggi underlined the importance of protecting the minorities and fight against discrimination.
The launching event took place in an Art Gallery located in Bucharest, where the attendees could discover an exhibition on the Roma enslavement by the Roma Romanian artist Eugen Raportoru.
By commemorating the 170 years of Anniversary since the abolition of Roma slavery together with the launching event of the project financed by the second Swiss Contribution, a strong committment has been demonstrated to continuously communicate on this part of Romania's history.
