Launching event: SMEs Programme in Romania

The Programme "SME - ECO TECH", financed by the second Swiss Contribution to Romania, has been officially launched by the Romanian Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship & Tourism.

In the presence of the Swiss Ambassador Massimo Baggi, the Romanian Ministers of Economy and of Finance, as well as important actors representing public and private sector, this event has been the opportunity to introduce the Programme and its functioning. 

The SMEs Programme will bring around CHF 55 million into the Romanian economy (70% Swiss contribution) and will help the manufacturing sector's enterprises to invest in technology, energy efficiency, and digitalization. 

Through a call for projects to be launched by the Ministry of Economy via a specific platform, the financial support will be provided in the form of a grant (up to 40%) and a bank loan (at least 60%), through five partner financial institutions: BANCA TRANSILVANIA S.A, BRD GROUPE SOCIÉTÉ GÉNÉRALE, CEC BANK S.A, UNICREDIT BANK S.A, PROCREDIT BANK S.A
